Although tons of information (5,000 words worth!) was posted in Landmark’s update notes, some new stuff surfaced in the official livestream today. Devs also demonstrated a few of the upcoming features, including the revamped UI, some new props, and the much-anticipated creature spawning.
A new piece of info that devs slipped in is that a new resurrection location has been added: player claims. Players who don’t choose to revive on the spot when they die will be sent to the closest of the three location options, making it possible for anyone who died in a player-made dungeon to repawn there and not have to run all the way back from a graveyard or portal spire.
Producer Terry Michaels shared a few more tidbits of information, including that there won’t be any European servers at launch (although that could also be revisited in the future), and that the game will only be available on Windows. The removal of PvP was also highlighted — in case anyone missed that buried in the patch notes. Michaels also noted that even more features are being worked on that won’t make it into this update, but he wouldn’t divulge them as he didn’t want to make a promise that couldn’t be kept; devs hope those features will be in for launch. A good bit of news is there might not be a second character wipe before launch, but that is still undetermined.
If you want a peek at the new creature spawning while waiting for servers to come back up, you can watch the full livestream below.
