You know, Bless Unleashed has a bit of an uphill road to manage at the moment. It doesn’t just have to fix bugs for its closed betas (which it has been doing); it has to convince players that this one is going to be enough different from… well, the PC version of the game. Still, it has a closed beta happening this weekend and you can even still get a key, so we hope for its sake that it’s doing that difficult work.
Other beta news? Yep, we have a little.
- Who here remembers about Minecraft Earth? You know, another one of the augmented reality games… you know, closed beta signups are open now. Just… don’t punch the trees in your yard in hopes of getting lumber. That’s not how it works.
- Dual Universe is in second alpha. No, you cannot call it “dual alpha.” That’s not how words work even if they both refer to the second of something. Why? Because it’s just not. Stop asking.
- In Starbase, your robots will start from the bottom then wind up here, where “here” stands for “having a great deal of stuff built.” That’s how the song goes, right? You can also design and rent apartments, incidentally.
- Last but not least, if you thought that the announcement of Blue Protocol would be followed by a long stretch of no news whatsoever, well, you’re wrong. There’s another video out already! It shows stuff off.
Oh, beta world, you so crazy. You even have a full list down below; maybe our readers will notice something shouldn’t be on that list and let us know, but you’ll still have plenty of stuff on you. Keep on trucking, beta tests.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
