Console edition all the MMOs! Black Desert Online already made the leap to the Xbox One, a console with an installed base of four people and two demo kiosks in a discontinued Best Buy storefront, but the game is now moving to the PlayStation 4, which is owned by basically everyone who still buys game consoles. It’s a beta! An open beta!
Meanwhile, we bid our truest farewell to Legends of Aria, which has now moved into the launchiest state it can move into and upon which we declare “no take-backsies.” Moving along to other beta news…
- The Osiris: New Dawn version has moved into open beta! And… that’s the most specific change made with the game’s latest patch. It’s had bug fixes, though.
- If the sight of Akira Toriyama’s character designs flying around screaming and throwing energy blasts still makes you excited, you’ll probably want to check out the news on Dragon Ball: Legend of Time and Space. That would be your Dragon Ball Z MMO, for the record.
- The mobile version of EVE Online is due out for alpha testing later this month. That’s it. There’s no joke. It’s an upcoming test.
- Last but not least, as we fast approach the launch of World of Warcraft: Classic, you should be ready to reserve your name on August 12th if that’s a thing you need. If you’re not worried about your name, well… don’t worry about it.
Huh. We really can just be business-like about these, can’t we? Not very fun, I’ll pass. Let us know what you’re testing down in the comments, or let us know if something jumped test phases without us catching it!
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
