Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s an effort to distract you from what will no doubt be at least six months of no new content! No, it’s… a rat? Also that last one, but World of Warcraft’s traditional animal-themed mount for the Year of the Rat is here, and it’s a big old squeaky rat named (appropriately) Squeakers, flying about with a particularly John Williams-esque score for some reason.
The mount is available for $25, but it can also be obtained for free with a six-month subscription to the game, an offer that expires on February 23rd. On the bright side, the mount will still be for sale after that date; that’s just the limits of the six-month promotional period, so after that you’ll need to buy it separately. It does have the cute nose twitches, though; factor that into your value assessment appropriately.
Meanwhile, if you’re less about “adorable rodents to ride upon” and more about “making sure to have The Best Items,” you’ll be happy to know that the patch notes for the Season 4 update are available now. The patch launches on January 21st and brings with it all of the new keystones, top-level raiding, Heroic Warfronts, and so forth that we’ve come to expect from seasonal patches.
