Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy sorts out winners and losers next week

Here’s a reality check for you: Destiny 2 is about to go into its 10th season since the game launched back in 2017. Things have been moving quickly for Bungie’s online shooter, and if the PR is to be believed, the Season of the Worthy will be quite the event indeed.

Starting on March 10th and running through June 9th, the Season of the Worthy brings back the Trial of Osiris mode, adds a free Guardians Game seasonal event, and continues the game’s story as players battle with Rasputin to save the Last City.

“With the Sundial freed from the clutches of the Red Legion, one escaped Psion Flayer enacts a desperate ploy for revenge against the Last City. Guardians of the Light must set aside old differences to band together with unlikely allies and save the City from total destruction,” Bungie said.

I simply skipped the last season, due to a bit of burnout (honestly), but am looking forward to having another go beginning next week. In the meantime, I invested time in World of Warships, ESO, and Divinity: Original Sin II (which is/was spectacular).

All time well spent. I likely won’t grind out all the rewards and such for “Season of the Worthy”, but looking forward to all the rest of it.

Man, this seasonal format has really passed me by. Played after F2P, got the season pass thingy late and never ended up “finishing” the grind as the season was ending…lost interest in the next season, and seeing how quickly they rotate it’s not terribly attractive for me.

If they let you continue to work on past season progress to finish those bars I’d be super down. But as-is I’ve shelved the game and will likely keep it shelved for quite some time.

Which bars? The Season Seal?

I’ve been very impressed I can go back and do past season’s gear. Like I’m still working on things from Season of Opulence from before it went F2P and I tried it.

Uh…the seasonal progress one that you level to 100 with? I dunno the name exactly. But my understanding was that when one season ends, you move to the new seasons progress bar and you can’t continue the previous seasons progress. Am I wrong in this? Because if so I may end up diving back in a bit to slowly tinker around with finishing those up.

Ah the levels, yea, the levels end each season so if you don’t get 100 then you miss out on whatever was there.

Personally I don’t mind it, but I play enough that getting to 100 isn’t a big effort. I can see how someone who plays maybe an hour or two a week or something could get frustrated by it.

I mean…I played a lot more than that, just didn’t have the bonuses until I got the season pass near the end of the season. Put in at least 5+ hours a week for a while but still ended up capping out around the mid-60’s because I wasn’t specifically pushing for high-XP activities (and didn’t have the bonuses until the end).

Yea I dunno, in Season of the Dawn here I played about a few hours a night and ended up around level 439 so far.

The easiest way to win at Destiny 2 is to not play it.

Looking forward to it.

Going to be a fierce competition between Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy and Path of Exile Delirium for my time.
