So who here visits the class trainers in retail World of Warcraft? Put your hand down, we know you’re just lying to be cute. Since abilities are now learned automatically and players no longer need to visit even for a respec, the NPCs have been rendered largely superfluous, but the latest alpha build for Shadowlands has moved class trainers for the Alliance and Horde into specific buildings in Stormwind and Orgrimmar, at least for the time being.
The obvious question is why, but there does also appear to be a little answer, as this seems to be where players are directed after the starting experience ends at level 10. Each trainer seems to give a small spiel about how the various specs for each class work, and there’s a vendor with a handful of Expeditionary Weapon skins for players to use. Whether or not this will remain the case as the expansion moves through testing remains to be seen, but for now, it’s an interesting update to the otherwise deprecated NPCs.
