The widespread outrage and protests against police brutality over the past week and a half have trickled their way down into many facets of our lives, including the video game realm. While some studios are showing solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement with statements and donations, Elder Scrolls Online is doing its part by showing respect for George Floyd’s upcoming funeral by delaying the console release of its latest expansion.

“We are delaying the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch of Greymoor out of respect for George Floyd and the service planned in Houston for June 9,” ZeniMax posted. “We feel it would not be right for us to celebrate our launch and distract from more important events on that day.”

Now, the console launch will happen on June 10th, with downtime starting late on the 9th in anticipation of Greymoor’s arrival. ZeniMax said that it is hard at work addressing the launch bugs that arrived with the PC release and is preparing to roll out Greymoor on Google Stadia this June 16th.
