Earlier this week, ArenaNet posted a massive dev blog discussing all the changes it’s making to Guild Wars 2’s End of Dragons elite specs following the first three rounds of beta. “We’ve done more than just tune numbers and fix bugs,” the studio says. “[W]e’ve been listening, and have made changes to core mechanics, skills, and traits where called for.” Notably…
- The Catalyst will see the Jade Sphere mechanic and hammer skills improved, along with added survivability;
- The Mechanist will see better pet and command controls, boon deployment, and mech-to-player balance;
- The Willbender, who appearently didn’t charm players as ArenaNet hoped, will see improved mobility and synergy;
- The Virtuoso will see tweaks to phantasms and blade stocking;
- The Harbinger has seen a ton of work and the addition of a new Blight Threshold mechanic, plus elixirs have gotten tons of love;
- The Untamed “fell short of the mark” as ArenaNet put it and will see adjustments to pet control, a new Unleashed Ambush mechanic, and less chaotic visuals;
- The Vindicator gets better dodge and focus transfer;
- The Specter will see Consume Shadows and Endless night tuned;
- The Bladesworn’s Dragon Slash is getting a bit of work to make it less of a gamble. alongside changes to Lush Forest.
Players can look forward to those changes in next week’s beta event.
Meanwhile, Wednesday evening, the team previewed End of Dragons’ new siege turtle, but the star of the show turned out to be the teaser for new character customization options that (we presume) will be accessible in the makeover kit next week – yay new hair! [Update: They’ll also be available at character creation.]
Finally, as we noted Wednesday, ArenaNet has gem cards on sale on multiple vendors today, including Amazon. These kinds of sales truly don’t happen often, so now is the time to stock up if you want a stash of gemmies ahead of End of Dragons.
