Whenever we talk about crafting, I feel that we’re too quick to divide all players into “crafters” and “non-crafters” without considering that there might be a third category. Call them the “half-hearted crafters,” the ones who dabble with the best of intentions but don’t usually go the distance because of the effort and difficulty involved.
I will admit that I’m a half-hearted crafter in many of my games. I’ve fully leveled up only a handful of professions over the years — engineering in World of Warcraft, architecture in WildStar, scholar in LOTRO — but usually I get frustrated at the time sink and lack of immediate payoff before getting that far in most crafting fields.
Who’s with me? Who’s a half-hearted crafter — and what’s your MMO crafting journey been like?
