EVE Online’s FPS module Vanguard will have its first test on December 7 for subscribers

When CCP Games announced EVE: Vanguard, the FPS module that claims to link itself to EVE Online, many people expressed skepticism, particularly since the studio has tried to create modules and spin-offs from the internet spaceship gankbox multiple times and failed at every last one. However, players can see if perhaps the fifth time’s the charm for an EVE shooter thanks to an upcoming playtest.

As the story’s headline points out, there is one big catch to the test in that it will only be available to Omega players, aka those who are subscribed to EVE Online proper. With that said, getting in to this so-called “first strike” playtest will simply involve selecting the Vanguard character profile in the EVE launcher once testing begins. The test will kick off on Thursday, December 7th, and will run until Monday, December 11th.

In other EVE news, the Havoc expansion has been getting multiple updates and adjustments including pirate incursion balance tweaks, a change in security status to the Villore system due to increased naval presence, the end of evermark trading restrictions, and some quality-of-life updates for corporation projects, among other things.
