Diablo IV releases its uber unique crafting system, tries selling portal effects for $30

How much would you pay to get some differently colored portal effects in Diablo IV? Evidently Blizzard believes that fans will shell out $30 for them in a Dark Pathways cash shop bundle released last week, which packs together five different portal effects and 1,000 of the game’s platinum cash shop currency… only the portals are class-specific rather than interchangeable.

As one might expect, players of the game aren’t exactly delighted with the bundle, particularly the class-locked nature of the portals and complaints about other shop bundles packing in platinum in their pricing, while others point out that Path of Exile’s cash shop portals can near similar price ranges, except many of them can be bought as individual items at a lower price and have no class restrictions. So there is that.

As for actual gameplay features, the patch that brings uber unique crafting went live this week, which lets players burn five unwanted uber unique items into a material that’s used to create an uber unique item of their choice. This new system also doesn’t appear to be sitting too well with players, as many point out that having five uber unique items at once is beyond the reach of most players, while others argue for other tweaks like expanding the system to regular unique items.
