Are you a fan of Vindictus enough that you’d be willing to play a standalone single-player title cut from the MMO’s cloth? Then you’re precisely the sort of person who will probably want to know about Vindictus: Defying Fate, a new action RPG that lets players take up arms against massive creatures inspired by Celtic mythology.
“Welcome to the world of Vindictus: Defying Fate, an adrenaline-fueled action game currently in the pre-alpha stage, where every clash is a symphony and every step is a dance with destiny.”
Players will be able to take on the role of several existing characters, including those from the MMO, or they can create their own character from scratch, selecting from different weapons that affect combat style and outfits for personal expression. Combat itself is described as “a test of skill, strategy, and reflexes,” with most monsters being much larger than the player character that requires them to clash, dash, and slash their enemies.
A release date for Defying Fate hasn’t been tied down yet, but an FAQ confirms that the primary single-player mode will begin pre-alpha testing between March 13th and 18th on Steam, while Nexon plans to release a multiplayer mode after launch. When launch has been confirmed, it will arrive on PC first, with consoles to be decided later.
