It’s been at least five minutes since somebody announced a new extraction title, and this is one we knew about, so we’ll make exceptions: Seekers of Skyveil is back on the radar with today’s gameplay reveal.
First announced last fall but teased even before that, Seekers is a multiplayer PvPvE game from Elodie Games, a startup from former Riot devs. It’s actually a bit hard to categorize; even the devs on today’s video seem to have a hard time binning it. It looks like a fantasy top-down MOBA, but it’s not really a shooter or an RPG or full-scale battle royale, and it’s definitely not going in the grimdark direction, nor is it an MMO as maps top out at 24 people in teams of three.
Elodie is promising “approachable extraction gameplay” with a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling, complete with ” secret passages, events, and surprises in the Everbloom, a large map with randomly selected regions each match,” as well as gear passives, gold, and crafting materials that travel with you to the next outing. We count six heroes so far, with more on the way “over time.” The video and new pics are below; you can sign up for the March 21st/22nd playtests over on Steam.
