After months of retooling, Evercore Heroes comes back as a three-player co-op roguelite

Back in October 2022, we were all first introduced to Evercore Heroes, an isometric “competitive PvE” title that tasked opposing teams with completing PvE combat objectives as fast as possible. The game began paid closed beta testing last June, but despite it making a strong case for its style of gameplay according to our own Sam, it struggled to get off the ground, ultimately resulting in a drawing down of its servers and the team at Vela Games, followed by work on a make-or-break rework.

It looks as if work on that remastering has neared completion, as Vela unveiled its new gameplay premise on Steam today, changing it from a competitive PvE title to a co-op isometric roguelite for up to three players.

“Pick your favorite hero, customize your loadout, and go out on missions with your friends across the different regions of Lumerea. After each run you’ll unlock new ways to play, come up with new strategies & builds, then regroup, and try again to win the day as a team! (Oh, and of course we’ll have some challenging bosses for you to beat as well!)”

The new-look Evercore Heroes plans to hit early access sometime later this year, but Vela promises to share more gameplay details over the coming months as well as outline plans for playtests in the future. In the meanwhile, a new gameplay trailer that provides the latest peek at the game awaits below.
