Throne & Liberty’s open beta wrestles with login issues and EU server problems, showcases early access bundles

The past day of open beta for Throne & Liberty has gone about as one might have expected, which is to say that the game’s initial onrush of players has caused a slew of issues to pop up. But then, that is ultimately what these kinds of tests are meant to do.

Players are being directed to a specific series of Discord threads in order to register bugs and issues, which have been particularly active across the board but especially in the login issues megathread, as over 300 posts across multiple platforms register players’ inability to connect to the game. Comparatively, the next active thread is related to gameplay issues at over 100 posts, while those opened for performance and localization have significantly smaller numbers of activity.

General update information is also couched within Discord, which outlines some server issues that so far affect EU players, such as one specific EU server continually staying offline and PS5 players in the region not being able to download the game. Meanwhile, a small bug-fixing patch for Xbox went out yesterday, while another patch went live for PC players earlier this morning to address a few bugs and stop controller-using players from being kicked out of the game; PS5 and Xbox players should get this same patch later, time TBD.

In terms of activity, all we can once again track is what’s happening on Steam, which saw just over 60K people hop in yesterday. Meanwhile, Discord general chat is generally pretty salty, primarily because of the earlier referenced EU player issues that are still plaguing the game this morning.

MOP’s own Carlo sunk a large chunk of his Thursday into the game; he specifically praised the music, swappable combat style, skippable cutscenes, frame rate, map, graphics, and community in chat. “Its looking to be the game that kinda sits between Lost Ark and New World,” he remarked. “It really does feel like Lineage with modern features, and that’s a good thing.”

Meanwhile, Amazon has taken a moment to showcase the prices and goodies for T&L’s early access packs. There are three such bundles that provide five days’ worth of advanced access to the MMORPG, along with unique costumes, amitois, morphs, titles, and cash shop currencies. These will set gamers back $40, $70, or $100 depending on what bundle they get.
