Today is the day to kick off the next portion of player adventures within Azeroth… or at least the preamble to the adventures that are really within Azeroth. World of Warcraft gets its pre-expansion patch for The War Within today, meaning that players will get to enjoy skyriding on tons of mounts that are not dragon-custom-flavored, have all of their characters listed on a single front page, and enjoy the balance tweaks and changes that come with the expansion. There’s also a pre-expansion event, to no great shock.
You will have to wait a week for the story quests to start up, but rest assured that there is a storyline to lead into the next expansion. The developers are also making sure to update players on how the new character select screen can affect your ability to apply account services to characters, so keep that in mind.
