EVE Online tweaks sovereignty costs and refines capital ship production to further fuel territory fights

The Equinox expansion for EVE Online has always been about making battling for territory a central focus, but now CCP Games is looking to add more fuel to that fire with yesterday’s update, which has made further sovereignty adjustments to simplify the process and encourage more nullsec territory ownership.

Leading these tweaks is the end of alliances needing to pay off outstanding bills before transitioning into sovereignty gameplay, alongside threat detection arrays adding higher value nullsec anomalies, reduced costs for sovereignty upgrades, and a new tier of mining upgrades. Further sovereignty updates are planned in October, which primarily focus on skyhook structures producing more reagents while requiring less maintenance.

In addition to these sovereignty updates, the patch also made adjustments to the materials needed to build capital and supercapital ships and lowered the costs for Tech I battleships, effectively making it easier to add bigger boats to the battlefield. The patch also introduced smart bomb tweaks, enhanced chat controls, and increased Drifter activity. A follow-up patch has also changed specific blueprints, changed the range in which players can be eligible for a specific mission payout, and fixed a couple of UI bugs.
