Have you ever wanted to make your own MapleStory game world but couldn’t land a job at Nexon America? Well that dream became a reality for those kinds of fans when MapleStory Worlds launched in Korea this past April: This game lets players “create and share their own game contents with other players, utilizing background music and the vast graphic resources of Nexon’s beloved MapleStory IP, as well as their own creations.” Now it looks like Nexon is ready to spread those creative tools to our side of the globe as the company has confirmed a soft launch for North and South America.

MSW will make its arrival to the Americas on Wednesday, October 16th, for PC, iOS, and Android. The game promises access to over 30 million MapleStory assets and lets creators use a drag-and-drop interface or Lua scripting to make their experiences, as well as the ability to create and sell in-game avatar cosmetics. Players, meanwhile, will be allowed to freely explore these custom worlds with their avatar and purchase cosmetics to support their favorite creators.

Those who want to be notified when the soft launch releases are encouraged to sign up to the game’s newsletter, while fans who live in other regions are promised their own soft launch in the near future.

In other MapleStory news, the Western version will be seeing another round of adjustments in the near future, including a new frenzy totem-like currency due this winter, changes to the point costs for mystical familiar cards due on October 1st, and the promise to bring field harvesting to its pre-revamp state in the first half of 2025.
