Ashes of Creation shares a primer of October 25’s Alpha Two and previews the starting city of Lionhold

Ashes of Creation is very clearly excited for the arrival of Alpha Two on Friday, October 25th, as Intrepid Studios began shoveling coal into the hype engine for the test build for the latest dev livestream.

The video first opens with a literal “hype trailer” for the test, followed by a more information-dense primer on what players can expect in Alpha Two, including details about some of the major locations, the node system that’s central to the MMORPG, world bosses, and the variety of PvP activities such as caravan running and node wars.

Following that portion of the stream, creative director Steven Sharif and several devs grouped together to showcase Lionhold, the starting city that players will find themselves in Alpha Two. The team takes a look at several points of interest, takes on some quests and node commissions, confirms that it will be using AI to create its voice work (which will be sourced internally from team members), and discusses its new player experience, which is described as informative but not on-rails.

The stream also had the devs discussing some of the more granular things that Intrepid is testing ahead of Alpha Two including the queuing system and server stability, while Alpha Two will focus mostly on content while once again stressing that the build is not a final game. The full livestream as well as Lionhold preview await below.
