If and when you’re hungry to saddle up and play a western online RPG, where do you go? The pickin’s are a little slim, yet there are always places in various MMOs that sing to the spirit of the west.
Rose found one of these in Black Desert, saying, “I’m not sure I’ve ever been more excited to play a new class ever before, but BDO’s Deadeye makes my West Texas heart flutter (and laugh, because she’s exactly the kind of ridiculousness I expect from a Korean grindbox). Her accent is awful, but I love it. So I tossed on one of my my Resistols and got shootin’.”
“I picked up Cyberpunk 2077 over the holidays and been playing that quite a bit,” shared Greaterdivinity. “I’m just about to wrap the final mission of the base game and head to the DLC. Here’s my V hanging out with Kerry and the Us Cracks after resolving some differences. Gosh, I wish we had a MMO set in a world like this.”
I’ll second that. A western cyberpunk game, even!
Minimalistway apparently found a character that doubles as a fireworks projector: “I’m playing as Teshin in Warframe, who is one of the best NPCs in any game. Strong, fast and deadly, his end was quick and it upsets me, he deserved better.”
Pour one very weird glass out for the dude with the sparks and the very big hat.
PhoenixDfire is gaming in the final frontier: “Spaceships? You want spaceships? How about a classic Elite: Dangerous Asp in front of things photo (yes that is a thing)? In this case in front of a A class star with a Neutron Star in the background (all scientifically accurate apart from the fictional space craft of course).”
“I spent the break finishing up Enshrouded with my stylish friend Ket. The last dragon of 2024 is… slain? Well, surely that’s all behind us. Onward to 2025! Adventure awaits, huzzah,” said MurderHobo.
And you know me — the only good dragon is a dead dragon. Or dragon burgers. Those are surprisingly juicy and tender, mmm!
