Do you want to frag some punks but prefer doing that fraggery only on console? Then you’re in luck because FragPunk, the team vs. team shooter developed by Bad Guitar and published by NetEase that first landed on PC last month is now making its way to the Xbox X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles on Tuesday, April 29th.

For those who don’t remember, FragPunk is a team-based PvP shooter with a primary hook of match-changing “shard cards” that players can engage during matches to do things like change maps, characters, weapons, and even which side teams are playing on. The game landed on Steam and the Epic Games Store to some mostly positive reviews and a respectable playerbase on Steam thus far.

The announcement is being celebrated with a flashy new gameplay trailer while the console version of the shooter promises cross-platform play, cross-progression between PC and console, and several console-specific features like controller aim assist in order to level the playing field. Bad Guitar also is offering several goodies to those who connect their game accounts to consoles from now until April 29th.

On top of the new console version of the shooter, game producer Xin is already talking up Season 2, which will also begin on the same date. Players can look forward to 70 new shard cards, updates to its game modes, and a new map and new character. Overall it would appear that the punk fragging will not relent anytime soon.
