EverQuest Legends begins paid beta for preorder folks this afternoon, let’s gooooo

Rev up your nostalgia engines, folks, because EverQuest Legends is officially opening its preorder beta this afternoon.

“We’re excited to announce that the Preorder Open Beta servers are scheduled to open on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Noon PT / 3pm ET!” Game Jawn and Daybreak posted. “Let the fireworks begin!”

As we’ve been covering, EverQuest Legends is a Daybreak-backed reimagining of Classic EverQuest, built by EverQuest rogue server devs at Philly-based Game Jawn (go birds). But it’s not just a clone or a rogue server; the game includes modern updating and casual-friendly features as well, all to suit, you know, the people who actually play EverQuest and its lineage here in 2026.

The MMORPG costs $20 for the box and a full month of play, with a $10 monthly sub after that, not bundled with Daybreak’s All-Access Pass. In our estimation, the main reason to buy-in early instead of July 28th – when the game actually launches – is that it’ll get you into today’s beta. It also secures your name reservation.

That said, executive producer David “Sysyphus” Youssefi reminds players to “have fun and be patient” over the holiday weekend as players crush the servers.

“We will do our best to manage the traffic as folks enter the game, but you should reasonably expect that there may be some delays at peak times over the weekend,” he cautions. “And while the game is very close to launch ready, this is still a beta, and we are continuing to do balance passes, completing new features (like spell upgrades), revamping dungeons, and fixing bugs. The game is already amazing, and it’s only going to get better. To that end, we’ll be releasing a post-launch roadmap soon, which will outline the plans we have for housing, a player auction house, Nektropos Castle in the fall, Kunark in the winter, and much more.”
