You were probably busy on the Fourth of July, and so was Starbase: Finnish developer Frozenbyte posted another video for everyone to gawk over, this one specifically focused on “spaceship battles and the variety of available mounted weapons you can put on your ship.” Pew pew and all that. The video seems to delight in making spins ship (that’s a fun trick!) and blowing them up with mounted autocannon, sending smooshed hull pieces spiraling out into space.
The game was announced back in May as a “massively multiplayer online game with gameplay focused on building and designing spaceships and stations, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, trading, and combat” along with a significant focus on simulation, production, and construction on a galactic scale. Early access launch is still expected later this year.
