Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards are not usually something we cover directly here on MOP, given that they branch far and away from MMORPGs and we have our own awards to contend with. But for the last year or two, a few of the games we care about have been using the event to drop goodies ahead of the new year, so we’re keeping an eye on the show tonight.
Specifically, Elder Scrolls Online and Warframe have both publicly promised reveals during the show, and Amazon’s New World has been teasing a big announcement for today, which we (correctly!) assumed is intended for the event (although it’s been a bit spoiled by the premature arrival of the Steam page). Even Fortnite is up to something. Last year, of course, the show helped reveal a brand-new MMO we weren’t even expecting, Atlas, so it’s gonna be fun seeing what else we’ll get tonight.
Tune in with us at 8:30 p.m. EST tonight for the event; we’ll be updating this post with the big MMO-related news as it happens!
9:15 PM EST – Nothing really MMO-centric yet, but the Xbox One Series X stuff is relevant, if goofy.
