John Smedley is no longer with us, by which I mean that he is still entirely alive and has not left us in the least, he’s just no longer Daybreak’s CEO. But his legacy is improving the bear AI in H1Z1. Except that that isn’t really his legacy, and that also wasn’t the focus of that patch. So pretty much none of that was accurate.
Look, I have to use what I can for this week’s opening. The beta world has been quiet, it’s like everyone in the world is off doing something else this time of year or something.
- When Star Citizen rolls out its Space Marine shooter, you can expect slow-paced combat and consequences for death. Other than the usual consequence of “not being alive any longer,” obviously. Possible tax penalties.
- World of Warships wants you to know a lot about signal flags.
- The next Elite Specialization for Guild Wars 2 has been revealed, and it’s the Tempest! Look forward to the next Elite Specializations for the Warrior (Hamlet), the Ranger (The Merchant of Venice), and the Engineer (Coriolanus).
- Tree of Savior is going into an open closed beta. Which is a closed beta, but it’s open, but… you know, there’s no way it’s going to be any less confusing. It’s not in English anyway.
Is that really everything? Huh. Well, we do have that usual list of games just below the break. Let us know if something jumped test phases without us catching it in the comments below, dear readers.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.
