Bless Online teases its solo, story, and raid dungeons ahead of 2018 rollout

Neowiz has a new dev blog up on Steam today featuring none other than Bless Online’s dungeons, which include episodes relating to the main storyline, low-key jaunts for soloers, and hardcore raids for 10 bodies.

“The most basic reason for exploring dungeons is for the special items, but clearing dungeons with friends and party members is also a fun and worthwhile experience!” the Korean studio says. “Dungeons, one of Bless Online’s strengths, are places that utilize the strategies and tactics of each class, and are designed to maximize players’ pleasure and sense of accomplishment.” A real sense of accomplishment, mind you, not this kind.

Bless is slated to launch in the west on Steam later this year as part of a global rollout by Neowiz, which plucked its game back from planned western publisher Aeria following an apparently botched partnership last year. We recently included it in our list of top MMOs to look forward to in 2018.

I am glad they have considered the soloers, as this game has a pretty appealing feature list and i’ve been keeping a discreet eye on its progress.

Dungeon variety ranges from those for soloing players in the beginning of the game to 10 player raid dungeons! Each dungeon has its own unique characteristics and stories.

…. Shit.

I play this game in Korea right now and i am a bit concerned tbh. The tech of this game is really outdated, it is DX9 based. Combat is still clunky but imo a bit better that on the russian servers back in the days before the shutdown. Quests are also not working here and there, even in the starter area so i think they have a long way to go.

But isn’t that the original release version still? My understanding is that all their efforts are going into this reworked version.

and Japan

I can actually live with it being DX9 … means that most everyone can run the game with no BS Nvidia Gameworks compatibility bullshit (usually).

Well that´s a two folded sword. Performance for example is pretty low at the moment. If you switch zones or if you log in textures from buildings or other players pop in very slowly. I did not do a lot of pvp but i am mostly concerned about performance in mass pvp.

You know how this game happened.

Dark Souls had just finished beating a boss and was taking a rest when Tera, wearing her slinkiest plate mail, sat down next to him, one thing led to another and two and a half years later, Bless Online was born.

Also, have they moved away from OWPVP? I see RVR and Arena PVP listed on the website but more mention is given to the PVE environment.

I’m just glad that Aeria is no longer responsible for the delivery. If you love your baby don’t let Aeria touch it.

I am glad they went with Steam and self-published, much more profitable with a large, often unreached market for MMOs.
