The Daily Grind: Which MMO do you wish had an emulator – but doesn’t?

A few weeks back, when The Matrix 4 news hit, I spent some time digging around The Matrix Online’s community so that I could write about their emulators. I was genuinely surprised to find out that while they exist, they still aren’t fully playable.

In fact, quite a lot of MMOs out there have closed down but don’t seem to have rogue servers up and running – while others are still under construction. I’d love to see Atlas Reactor, Worlds Adrift, Marvel Heroes, and Landmark get fully functional player-run emus, just to name a few recent games that’ve sunsetted.

Which MMO do you wish had an emulator – but doesn’t?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!

Asheron’s Call and Wildstar, but I don’t think I would actually play them unofficially… :/

Asheron already exist, Wildstar is being worked on.

Wildstar. I’ve heard they’re working on it, but I started to miss the atmosphere of the game after it was shut down, and would love to see it again.

A fully functioning Vanguard SOH server would be great.

The emu is shaping up well, if I’m not wrong there is even some questing.

Not sure if I’d want it purely vanilla (which was awesome, but lacked endgame raids) or later during Shadow of Angmars time (when we had the rift, forochel, evendim but the dumbing down had already started).
