Changes to player-owned farms are in the air today for RuneScape; the game’s patch this week implements changes announced recently. Experience gained for individual activities will tend to be lower (encouraging more active play and effort), animal breeding will require more effort (also encouraging more active play and more player-to-player interaction), and animals will eat more. The official post on the changes even describe these as nerfs, but the patch announcement frames them as positives for the health of the game overall.
The patch also coincides with the presumed final round of testing for the bank placeholder changes, so you can go ahead and test those out on the game’s test server when not working on your now less-rewarding farm. There are also an assortment of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements alongside the big updates, so one can only hope they ameliorate any sting of making your farm that much less efficient.
The updated Bank Placeholders and Improvements Beta is now open!
