Torchlight III wraps up its closed beta, will talk about its future this Friday

After a year of traveling through alpha and beta testing — not to mention downgrading from an MMORPG to an online multiplayer format — Torchlight III is winding down its closed beta and starting to move toward an actual launch.

[AL:TL3]Echtra Games took this opportunity to reflect on how far the game has come: “After announcing closed beta, we heard pretty clearly ‘You aren’t done yet!’ You said that we needed better character customization and a better end game. So while we continued to fix bugs and work on launch-related projects, we also went back to adding features. The Legendarium helps with the character customization. Difficulty levels became a badge of honor. The end game feature is still in development. Meanwhile, we fixed thousands of bugs.”

Once the current beta phase comes to a close this Friday, Echtra said that it will make an announcement on the same day about “when Torchlight 3 will be available to the public.” So does this mean open beta, launch, or both? We shall see. The title is still under NDA, which is why you’re not seeing the streaming legion cover it at present.
