Destined even further.

The next generation of Destiny 2 is almost here! No, that doesn’t mean a new title in the franchise; it means that with the release of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S, there’s a new generation of consoles to play the game on. That also means new improvements to the software’s performance on console versions, which are detailed in a new post on the official site.

About the only substantive difference is that the Xbox Series S will only support 1080p resolution, while both the Series X and PlayStation 5 offer 4k support. Consoles will also offer field-of-view customization and some optimization will be done for load times. It’s also important to note that the game will be cross-generational, so PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players will be sharing the same servers. If you’re eager to play the game on your shiny new console, it’s worth checking out the improvements.

And if you’re going to question why someone would play an old game on a new console, please note the last time you loaded an old game on a new PC.
