Good work, Dysterra! It can be a rocky road to launch, even to early access launch, but you braved the difficult path and oh, wait, never mind, you’re already issuing a rollback due to cheating. Well, that’s disappointing. Hopefully that doesn’t presage more rocky stuff coming later. We only have space for so many rocks at this point and Lord of the Rings Online currently has our heart in the rock category.
Other beta news has occurred, of course:
- You could try out Hyenas as it’s having a beta event this weekend. It could be good for a laugh. Get it? Because hyenas are known for… yeah, you got it.
- You could also take part in pre-registration for Eversoul, or you could get annoyed because it’s on mobile devices. Whatever makes you happy.
- Pre-alpha testing for Pantheon is also on the table for December 3rd. Why, that’s tomorrow! Then there’s still time!
- Last but not least, there’s another Cinderstone Online closed beta update with new story chapters. That’s pleasant. I’m pleased.
We will not be rolling back Betawatch due to cheating. We may, however, change the list based on cheating, which in this case is defined as MMOs slipping to another test phase without us noticing. Report such cheating down in the comments and you will be rewarded… with our gratitude. (Actual financial worth of our gratitude: up to two dollars per month.)
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
