Whee.

Remember when World of Warcraft had just launched Cataclysm? Are you eager to do that again? Stop shaking your head and shouting that you aren’t. It was a rhetorical question. This is what we’re doing now. Yes, WoW Classic has officially opened the beta gates for the next expansion to hit the game, and that means you can log in now to test everything even as a lot of people are more than a little annoyed at this being an obvious dividing line between classic and the modern game.

Does that mean that there’s also a very big Cataclysm-specific pack with mounts, pets, and level boosts in the game’s cash shop? Of course it does, dubbed the Burning Upgrade Pack. It’s also worth noting that there is not a specific timeframe for when the expansion will go live beyond some time this year. But if you’re eager to see Deathwing nuke the planet for the first time all over again, hop into that beta.
