MMOs You’ve Never Heard Of: Evil v Evil, Blood Strike, Solium Infernum

Welcome back to another roundup of some MMOs and MMO-adjacent multiplayer games that you’ve (probably) never heard of and we need to at least mention!

Evil v Evil: All right, this one’s not an MMO; it’s a co-op action FPS centered on three-person teams, however. Evil v Evil is Toadman Interactive’s new shooter focused on letting you “live out your ultimate vampire power fantasy.” The beta rolled out last weekend; it’s expected to launch in Q2 of this year. I cannot recommend the video if you don’t like migraines!

Blood Strike: NetEase continues its incessant stream of new games with Blood Strike, a “battle royale shooter for mobile devices” I’d never heard of prior to the PR dropping in my inbox. I know the PR says it’s for mobile devices, but the official website makes clear it’s for PC too. NetEase’s PR says it’s aiming for a global launch on March 24th, though it’s already in its third season of play. Twitter says March 21st. It’s probably one of those.

“In Blood Strike, up to 100 players face each other on expansive maps. You take on the role of Strikers, unique heroes, each with special skills and abilities that can turn the tide of battle, both offensive and defensive. As the new season unfolds, players will experience an updated Ranked Match, offering a fresh and competitive environment to showcase their skills. The excitement intensifies with the upcoming global launch, allowing even more players to join the fray.”

Solium Infernum: Finally, we come to Solium Infernum, on my radar largely because my guild is obsessed. The Aussie team at League of Geeks launched the “political grand strategy game” back on February 22nd; it includes a heavy emphasis on multiplayer play, landing it in our view. Imagine if Path of Exile were an MMORTS and you’re there.

“The game boasts diverse multiplayer modes, accommodating both time-strapped players and those seeking extended strategic encounters. Asynchronous multiplayer matches support up to six players with turns taken across several days or weeks and requiring just a few minutes to play every day. For strategy fans favouring immediate action, real-time multiplayer is also available. Alongside the multiplayer modes, Solium Infernum offers Chronicles, all-new single-player narrative-driven challenges that explore Hell’s intricate politics, as well as unlimited hours of play thanks to the single-player Skirmish mode.”

We love to hear about new multiplayer games we’ve never covered, even if it’s not a pure MMORPG – drop us a note if you spot one!
