In the middle of our street.

Your house (in Guild Wars 2) can be a very very very fine house (fine house), with stray cats in the yard. Unlocking them isn’t hard, and all your characters can stay there too. These are just some of the takeaways from the new feature rundown about Homesteads in the upcoming expansion. If you can’t wait to unlock your house, you should know that you will have to follow the plot of the Janthir Wilds expansion, but once you have done so there’s a Mastery track to unlock more rooms and improve on-site facilities like the farm and the lumber mill.

Players will also be able to craft decorations via the Handiwork mastery line, which is not leveled via traditional crafter methods simply because the developers want that crafting to be account-wide just like the house is. You can also move your logged-out characters around your homestead as you wish (although all of them will have default locations) and enjoy various unlocks from your personal instance shared with the Homestead, like the aforementioned cats. Prospective homeowners would do well to check out the whole rundown or catch the preview stream on August 2nd at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
