World of Warcraft offers a free weekend as the Radiant Echoes event gets revised and pre-patch bugs continue

Yeah, super, we're all real impressed.

The good news for World of Warcraft fans – or perhaps we should say lapsed fans – is that if you’re curious about how the run-up to The War Within is going, you can actually find out for yourself. Players can log into the game for free through August 4th if you have a prior subscription to the game on your account, meaning that you have full access to the game, the pre-launch patch, and so forth. Delightful!

What is somewhat less delightful is the fact that the issues continue apace with the pre-launch patch, with the Radiant Echoes event having received major adjustments to speed up the intervals of interacting with the event and the pace of rewards. Weekly quests are now daily, enemies are more consistently available, and more drops are available in general based on a higher spawn rate.

Significantly less delightful is the fact that bugs are also continuing, with the newest one being players encouraged to not interact with any faction that has a cross-faction counterpart. Players have compiled a list of reputations this applies to, and the bright side is that they’re older reputations; the down side is that you can easily lose all of your reputation in an eyeblink. So hopefully you can still enjoy that pre-launch patch event this weekend?
