As promised, Tencent has dropped a roadmap for Tarisland at Gamescom today, finally letting players know what to expect over the next couple of months following a surprisingly quiet launch period this summer. The key announcement here is that the game’s very first season is expected in October. It’s called Blight Dragon Elegy, and it absolutely screams “Wrath of the Lich King” without using those words.
“In the frigid Scardino Icefield, you will encounter the Snow Lions and The Frost Dragon hidden deep within the icy plains and witness a heart-wrenching plan for revenge,” the devs explain, referring to the new map and story experience. We can apparently also expect four new dungeons and four new raids, “featuring over 20 new bosses and hundreds of new mechanics,” as well as a level cap bump to 50, season talents, and a new weapon system.
The actual roadmap itself further notes that the Steam launch is coming in October as well; in the meantime, September will see PvP tweaks, a “new account level up accelerate” feature, and the “charming” and “gear upgrade” systems.
Yeah, the roadmap’s inspiration isn’t subtle either.
