Star Wars Galaxies Legends recaps PvP update, hints at holsters and Halloween

A week ago, the Star Wars Galaxies Legends devs surprised the playerbase with a Friday update that not only kicked off a house demo event but also shored up the game’s rendering engine and added a ton of new PvP content. The latest dev diary now digs into some of that new content with screenshots and behind-the-scenes info, beginning with the new PvP battlefields that shake up the faction-based gameplay and incorporate designs from the PvP fanbase.

“These new multi-factional battlefields add a fun twist on the battlefield experience and allow teams to be built of people from different factions,” the team writes. “This also included the release of two new maps, the Trandoshan Slaver Camp on Kashyyyk and the Lost Bunkers on Lok. […] With this changing every reset it also allows a push for maps that are usually unused. While we may all love that one map (it was Alterac Valley in WoW for me), this encourages us to step outside of that comfort zone and play on maps we don’t usually do.”

The dev blog also discusses the game’s tech cross-server collaboration with the SWG Resto III team, efforts on the Marauder themepark, new furniture, and new clothing – including a new holster. There’s also a tease for what sounds like fresh Halloween content:

“Last Galactic Moon Festival we had introduced Jabba’s Garage, and we’re hoping that in the near future we’ll begin introducing the interior of it! Jabba’s Catacombs will be a wild array of tunnels, twists and turns that’ll bring you closer to the Palace’s previous owners.”
