So Ashes of Creation is delaying its testing phase, that’s not a big deal. The game still has plans for nice big and meaty PvP battles, as explained in its most recent development update. Specifically, it wants the largest organized battles of any MMORPG, and when you’ve just had to delay things to get back on track, isn’t that the best time to push for doing bigger things than anyone else has ever successfully done before?
Let’s just move on to other beta news, shall we? But first we’ll bid a fond farewell to The Division 2, which has moved fully into the launch category now. Other games have not:
- Dual Universe counted 30,000 simultaneous virtual players on the same planet in recent testing. That’s definitely a testing milestone, although one that may be slightly inflated for bragging rights.
- Guardians of Ember veterans are getting some nice shiny veteran rewards now, so if you’ve stuck with the game for a while, you get stuff. Who doesn’t like stuff? Everyone likes stuff.
- Outlaws of the Old West has moseyed into an early access launch, for those of you who like your old west adventure to not be something on console and not managed by Rockstar.
- Last but not least, the characters of Camelot Unchained get to look prettier with the latest development updates. It’s Medieval Conflict Eye for the Siege Warfare Guy.
Now, if you’re not playing something that’s just launched? You might want to check out that list of games in testing we have just below. And you might want to let us know if something jumped test phases without us noticing. All of that stuff is kind and good!
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
