The centerpiece of Diablo’s anniversary event is Diablo III’s Darkening of Tristram, which puts more Diablo in the game. Seriously, it’s bringing back classic Diablo, complete with pixelated graphics, awful movement, and lots of classic bosses to smash to pieces. It’s all part of the game’s next major patch, and wouldn’t you know it, you can take a closer look at what’s coming with the patch, complete with a video preview you can check out down below.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether or not you can enjoy this look back at the start of the franchise without making everything look like it’s displayed on the monitor you threw out in 2002 when you got your first flatscreen.
Of course, the anniversary content isn’t the only thing coming to the game; there are also item improvements for various set items and revisions the the greater rift mechanics. Flying enemies can now be killed in mid-air, while enemies who can become unattackable for a time such as Rockworms will spend less time hiding and more time attacking. Check out the video just below, and get ready to hack your way through the dungeons of Tristram all over again in the near future.
