Game pad support is present now in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands alpha

Yes, you can now play World of Warcraft with a gamepad… well, if you are currently in the game’s alpha test for the Shadowlands expansion, anyhow. If you’re still just playing Battle for Azeroth you’ll have to keep waiting. But the gamepad support is live in the expansion’s current alpha build, and you can even check out someone playing the game with a controller in a video just below. The dream has come true.

Of course, it’s important to note that this doesn’t indicate the game is heading for any sort of console release; this is meant to support people who either need the use of a gamepad as an input device or just those who would prefer a different way of enjoying the game. Still, if you’ve long thought that you’d rather be able to play the game with shoulder buttons and analog sticks, the option will soon be there.
