Final Fantasy XIV outlines the changes coming to tomestones in patch 5.4

Welcome to funky town.

The penultimate patch for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is coming in early December, and that means players will be dealing with a new shuffling of tomestones once again as gear levels improve. The official site has already posted a rundown of the changes to expect, which should be familiar to veterans at this point as it’s very similar to prior rounds of tomestone deprecation and replacement.

Allagan Tomestones of Revelation will be the new currency to use, with Allagan Tomestones of Goetia being removed altogether; if you haven’t already converted those to Phantasmorgia, do that before the patch. Similarly, Allagan Tomestones of Phantasmorgia will no longer be used for buying items, but can be converted to the no-longer-limited Allagan Tomestones of Allegory. Based on prior timing, this would indicate that the patch is about a month away for players, but an official date has not yet been announced; just to be on the safe side, you might want to sort out your tomestones earlier rather than later.
