The October version update has arrived for Final Fantasy XI, and it brings with it no new story this month but plenty for players to do. Sortie, for example, has been expanded with the new ability to further improve Empyrean Armor. Square-Enix discovered a last-minute bug that required required disabling some of the new areas players were meant to be able to explore until the next version update in November, but players will still be able to further reforge armor despite this temporary stay.
Players can also take on the new set of Ambuscade opponents for October, with balance changes to returning foes as well as various balance tweaks.
