The next few months are apparently going to be big ones for ARK: Survival Ascended, as the content roadmap shared by the survival sandbox at the beginning of December is starting to take a bit more shape according to its latest newsletter, which outlines some release timing for a variety of features and updates.

The month of January is primarily focused on dev kit updates for modders to look forward to, as the dev kit for Survival of the Fittest mode is set to arrive in the middle of next week. This kit will let players craft their own SOTF arenas or create their own twists to the battle royale mode.

The end of January is bringing an even bigger dev kit update that promises to let players craft “entire custom Unreal Engine games to be made available inside ASA.” A Mario-like platforming game will come with this update to give players an example of what is possible, but the newsletter further makes bold feature claims like custom UI creation, launching multiplayer games within a mod, or having seamless travel from one level to the next.

After that, ASA will release the Center map at the end of February, along with the new Gigantoraptor creature, followed by the launch of the Frontier map, the Fasolauchus creature, and the Frontier Adventure Pack DLC at the beginning of April.

Other updates of note include the opening of official server transfers across all platforms on January 24th, the survivalbox’s launch to Japan on PS5 later in January, and confirmation of more events coming soon including Love Evolved and Eggcellent Adventures.
