Here’s what to expect from New World’s two-phase Aeternum console beta tomorrow

All right finally here we go: Amazon has just pushed out a big post on what exactly gamers can expect from New World’s first Aeternum beta on console, which is slated to begin tomorrowday.

“We are excited for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to carve their destiny in the Confidential Console Closed Beta on July 25 at 9:00 a.m. PT (4:00 p.m. UTC) through July 31 at 9:00 a.m. PT (4:00 p.m. UTC),” the studio says. “This invite-only, cross-play test will let console players in North America and Europe customize a character, experiment with unique weapons, and explore vast, supernatural zones. Players will also have the opportunity to try endgame content.”

It looks as if Amazon means that; it is splitting the test into two phases. The first one, starting tomorrow, is focused on the newbie experience as everyone starts at level with some “minor quality of life adjustments to take into account the short test window.” The second, starting July 28th at 10 a.m. EDT, will allow players to create a new toon using a level 65 premade character with maxed out stats and gear so that they can really dig into the new endgame revamp. Additional event content layered over these phases include influence races, Outpost Rush, and the new lawless FFA PvP zone.

Do note that this beta test is locked behind an NDA – no writing, no streaming, no leaking on Reddit, so don’t expect much clarity from other testers. Predownloading has already begun as of yesterday.

We’ve still got keys left for PS5 if you need in! But if you’re a PC player, stay tuned, as Amazon is continuing to promise a separate test with PC access.
