As we creep toward Halloween, our crack One Shots photojournalists were on the ground in various games grabbing us first-hand demonstrations of the season’s spookiness!
R00ch begins with this Elder Scrolls Online vista, saying, “I present ‘Shrooms and Spores,’ a scary headspace where you don’t know where the psychedelics’ end and the Telvanni magic begins.”
“A lovely new sunrise is cresting over the Nightingale realms and The Murderhobo has a new fancy axe. A happy day indeed,” submitted the Lurker.
Yes. What day ISN’T happy when there’s an unhinged adventurer swinging a giant blade of death in the same of destiny? My decapitated friend Kyle thought it was a lark, and now his neck is a pleasant breeze!
“I haven’t played Final Fantasy XIV since before Dawntrail,” Minimalistway shared. “The first thing I noticed were the improved lights and shadows. The game looks so much better, so here is a screenshot with default settings.”
And speaking of FFXIV, Vincent is creating the nameplate to end all nameplates with this picture of an Astrologian: “…by attuning their aetherial energies to that of constellations, they learned to wield magicks with heretofore unseen properties…”
Greaterdivinity wraps things up in the Warhammer 40K universe: “The Mourningstar hub in Darktide isn’t the most exciting place, but it’s got some nice spooky vibes to it, especially with the servitor skulls floating about and whatnot. Just chilling on my zealot between missions purging heretics, which are a bit like zombies I guess, too.”
