Walls! Trading! New islands! Walls! These are some of the major additions coming to Donkey Crew’s PvE medieval survival sandbox Bellwright on Tuesday, December 9th, when the Maiden Voyage patch goes live. Yes, it has been multiple months since the early access title got its last update, but look! Walls!
The new map alluded to earlier is known as Halmere Isles, which will bring about 25% more area to explore that promises more story lines with multiple progression paths, more equipment, new buildings and animals, and a loyalty system to the game. As the associated trailer further illustrates, there will be islands to visit as well.
In addition to the new map, players will be able to link their outposts together with a new trade caravans system, creating logistical avenues between locations, as well as the (apparently) long-awaited ability to build walls around outposts to fortify their defenses and introduce new strategies when being attacked.
Other features of the Maiden Voyage patch include more character creation features, the ability to wear cloaks, new weapon types, and construction quality-of-life that lets players see when features will block things they’re trying to build. It’s islands, cloaks, and walls all the way down when the patch pulls up to players’ shores this week.
