Final Fantasy XIV has announced the launch date for the game’s next expansion, Dawntrail, after it was actually avoided during this year’s fan festival reveals. Dawntrail will release for early access on June 28th, and the full release will happen on July 2nd. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida joked at PAX East today that originally the team was aiming for the week before but there is Elden Ring DLC happening that week.
The panel revealing the release date also showed off the physical collector’s edition for the expansion, showing off a cloth map, a writing case, a new Viper statue for the generic Warrior of Light, and a journal for players. Yoshida also discussed wishing to continue expanding the different sorts of content put into the game and expanding the rewards available for the game; players will have to keep their eyes open for more details as we move swiftly toward the expansion launch. Pre-orders will go live on March 26th.
Meanwhile, the Final Fantasy XVI crossover quest will start on April 2nd.
