Linkrealms launches Steam early access today

Linkrealms is launching into Steam early access today. If you’re thinking, “Hasn’t that game been around for a long time?” know that you’re not crazy: It first went into beta in 2011 and has been under development ever since, though studio Mythyn Interactive says it’s now “close to completion.” It’s a bit of a classic sandboxy cross between Path of Exile and Ultima Online with Kingdom Reborn-era graphics.

“Since Linkrealms is a MMORPG, we decided to move to Steam Early Access to expand our userbase and let people enjoy a real ‘massive’ experience on servers open 24/7,” Mythyn explains. “The resulting feedback from the community will be crucial to guide us towards bringing the game to completion. Moreover, revenues from Early Access will be reinvested into additional human resources, speeding up the development of the game.” The studio says the early access version will focus on expanding the world’s biomes, skills, and guild tools, but “all core features of the game are in place, including physical and magical combat, crafting, land ownership, and pets.”

Mythyn has kindly granted our readers keys for 150 copies of the game, quite a nice little value since this early access is buy-to-play (though it’ll be free-to-play for its final launch). The keys also include $5 worth of store credit. Clicky the Mo button below (and prove you’re not a robot) to grab one of these keys and get started!

No keys left! Sorry.

Keys can be redeemed through Steam as usual with no geographic restrictions. To claim the keys, log into your Steam client, click on “Games” and then “Activate a Product on Steam,” and then enter the key. Linkrealms will then appear in your Steam library, but please note that Steam won’t download the game or make it playable until the official launch of early access, which is 3 p.m. EST. today (May 19th).

Standard giveaway notes: If there’s no captcha or Mo button and all it says is “No keys left! Sorry” in big letters, then we’re out of keys. If the captcha isn’t working, try an alt browser or clear your cache. Hang on to your code! If you lose it after all of our keys are given out, you’ll need to email us with your IP so that we can look it up for you in reverse.

Good luck and have fun!

Sorenthaz Just started playing PG again myself, and man so much have changed.. you don’t even start in a cave anymore, but a “proper” tutorial island.

Sorenthaz I did as well. But for some reason back when I tried some years ago, creating an account and downloading the client (IIRC there were multiple zip files involved) was an unnecessary hassle.

Holy !@#.  This looks AMAZING.  Like an Ultima Online meets Diablo 2 for 2016. Can MassivelyOP do an in depth review on this one????

11 comments, all keys gone in 2 hrs? Quite the contrast from that other game with the 5000 (?) keys sitting around unclaimed.

ProfessionalNoob IndigoSalma Did my best to make this a stealthy-ish giveaway for the people who really do click and read rather than just zerg for the keys. :D Still there weren’t very many… too many for a raffle, too few for everyone to get one. I hope those who got one have fun! :)

Actually I feel like I definitely checked this game out at some point in the past.   Don’t really remember anything but the look and features list definitely sound like something I checked out a few years back when it was in beta.  99% sure it was through Massively as well.

Honestly watching that video just makes me want to go take a gander at how Project Gorgon is doing.
