When the next patch rolls around, Final Fantasy XIV players are going to be heading into unfamiliar but long-awaited territory. We all know that; the announcement of Stormblood makes it very clear that we’re heading to Ala Mhigo. So the 3.5 main scenario questline will send us hurtling along exactly that path, and not coincidentally, that’s what’s being previewed on the official site today. Sure, a lot of the extant problems around Ishgard have been solved, but there are more mysteries introduced from 3.4 that have yet to be unraveled…

The previews also include a look at the two new dungeons of patch 3.5. Baelsar’s Wall has long marked the border between the Black Shroud and Gyr Abania, but after a long period of quiet, the facility appears to be active once again. Meanwhile, Sohm Al will also require further investigation, as the departure of Nidhogg’s brood has left the great mountain overrun with creatures that had previously respected the order of things. You can check out some screenshots of these additions and more in the gallery just below.
