One thing I look forward to at the start of every year is seeing all of the producer’s letters, states of the game, and previews that are posted about upcoming plans for MMOs. It’s great to be treated to a vision of where these games are going over the next year — and a good excuse to get back on board titles that have been neglected.
So far in 2017 we have seen Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, WildStar, SWTOR, and Guild Wars 2 (among others) attempt to draw attention and beckon to lapsed players with their visions of upcoming patches and expansions. When you read these letters, do they work to get you back into games you previously left? Have you found your playing patterns change thanks to such previews?
Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
